The LSU Stephenson Entrepreneurship Institute (SEI) uses educational offerings to foster entrepreneurial success in students and the business community.
Every day, we're driven by our commitment to inspire, innovate, and implement new ways of thinking that positively impact students and the local, state, and national economies. For students, this means organizing co-curricular activities to promote entrepreneurial thinking. Through Startup LSU, students have 54 hours to form teams and progress from ideation to final pitches, all in a fun and supportive environment. The J Terrell Brown Venture Challenge encourages students from across the LSU system to pitch their big ideas for a share of $50,000 in startup funding. Beyond campus, SEI partners with the City of Baton Rouge to host the annual Bootcamp for Entrepreneurs, a six-week training program for local entrepreneurs with ideas, early-stage ventures, and growing businesses. SEI also supports the Young Entrepreneurs Academy of Baton Rouge, which transforms a select group of high schoolers into CEOs over an academic year. With a variety of programs, SEI ensures that entrepreneurs at all levels receive the support they need to succeed. Together, these efforts build stronger teams across our campus and beyond.
