Why Your Support Matters
Our mission is to provide a high-quality chemical engineering education that combines rigorous academics with cutting-edge research, preparing students for high-paying, meaningful jobs in industry, academia, and government. Our alumni are solving big challenges in renewable energy, advanced manufacturing, industrial processing, biochemical innovation, and sustainable development. Our graduates have an average starting pay of over $95,000 a year.
Our faculty are dedicated to using science and engineering to make new products and processes that benefit people and the planet. They break new ground in energy and sustainability, advanced materials, biochemical engineering, computational modeling, and process systems engineering.
Our students benefit from a multidisciplinary and experiential learning environment. They start with a solid foundation in the core principles of chemical engineering before expanding into broader concepts and how to apply them to solve contemporary technological challenges.
Students collaborate extensively with researchers in centers and institutes affiliated with our department, including the Center for Computation and Technology, the Shared Instrumentation Facility, and the Center of Advanced Microstructures and Devices (CAMD). We actively encourage our undergraduates to participate in research, and we take pride in the high level of student involvement.
This LSU Giving Day, your gift will strengthen the winning teams that drive the Cain Department of Chemical Engineering to do what it does best: empower Tigers to lead, learn, and make a difference. Thank you for your support!
