About

Why Your Support Matters

The LSU College of Engineering builds teams that build a better world.

In Louisiana and around the world, LSU engineers work in every sector, from construction to energy to manufacturing. They design and build structures, machines, materials and systems that make life safer, healthier, and more prosperous for everyone.

Our faculty are teachers, mentors, discoverers, and inventors. Using one-of-a-kind facilities in one of the nation’s largest university engineering buildings, faculty conduct research that shapes our cars and computer software, our roads and robots, our tunnels and toys. They also create new tools and technologies, from moon rovers to AI agents.

Service to the state is at the heart of our work.

LSU engineering students and faculty have built playgrounds in every parish and work with industry partners to solve real-world business problems. We also prepare students for high-paying, high-impact jobs right here in Louisiana. We’re proud of our active alumni community and strong relationships with dozens of industry partners across the state.

We can’t build a better world without you. This LSU Giving Day, your gift will strengthen the winning teams that drive the College of Engineering to do what it does best: empower Tigers to lead, learn, and make a difference. Thank you for your support!

Impact Areas

Your generosity on LSU Giving Day impacts the following priority initiatives:

1. The College of Engineering Scholarship Fund
Our scholarship fund helps us recruit top-performing Louisiana high school students and support those for whom college is out of financial reach. Through this fund, we sharpen our competitive edge, broaden participation in engineering, and fuel social mobility. College graduates are more likely to climb the economic ladder. Our graduates make an average salary of $85,667.

2. The College of Engineering Dean’s Excellence Fund
Our dean’s excellence fund gives the dean the freedom to pursue important opportunities as they come up: creating a student support program, launching a faculty research project, updating a lab, buying supplies, or hosting a special event. This fund helps the dean remove barriers or pursue opportunities quickly so the engineering team can better meet their mission.

3. The Construction & Advanced Manufacturing Building Fund
We’re working to create a new School of Construction within the college, positioning LSU to lead a once-in-a-generation transformation of the construction industry. This new building will become the home for the new school, providing vital lab and classroom space as well as dedicated spaces for advanced manufacturing and machining.
